Form vs. Function

I have decided that when I create something, it must have function. There is one exception. Paintings. A painting hangs on the wall unobtrusively, and has no footprint to speak of. It is not a dust collector for the most part.

I want the items I create to be useful items. Serve a purpose. Not sit lifelessly on a tabletop, destined to be moved to shelf at Goodwill, where it will sit out its remaining years.

Form without function breeds extinction.
